My name is Ken Mattos. I was born in Texas & like birds, hence my blog title. I have lived in three regions of the U.S. and briefly in Europe. I am a Quaker and I am deafened. My politics are somewhat independent but more certainly progressive/liberal. I am open to different solutions that respect all people.

Here are two photos of Barack Obama using the ASL sign of "I Love You," a Deaf symbol of friendship. I share these for my fellow Deaf Americans & friends. These were passed on to me by Paula Blackburn.
